Welcome Anghello! The smart and easy visitor registration solution

News3 min read

The Anghello adventure began with a recurring observation: the persistent use of paper visitor registers in many companies.

The visitor register, also known as the "entry/exit register", is a legal obligation for certain companies and establishments, particularly those receiving the public (employees, sales representatives, customers, suppliers, etc.).

Its main purpose is to guarantee personal safety and facilitate traceability in the event of an incident or emergency.

We have experienced this all too often on our travels: a paper register to be filled in with one's own pen - epidemic obliged! -, having to sign in for all to see, waiting in front of the receptionist while he finishes his telephone conversation, or even having to announce your arrival to your contact via the telephone installed on the reception counter. Not to mention the welcome and safety booklet placed next to the register, which is often only superficially consulted...

Tedious for the visitor, this register also raises major issues in terms of confidentiality and security. Moreover, its use must comply with regulatory texts (such as the RGPD) and prescriptions concerning the processing of personal data collected.

Indeed, even if we're not curious by nature, we can sometimes be tempted to consult the history of previous visitors, looking for a possible competitor or acquaintance, can't you? Some more observant visitors are content to affix a simple cross as a signature, inconceivable for them to leave their signature next to their contact details on a "publicly" accessible register. How many visitors "forget" to read the entry instructions or write down their exit time... And frankly, these paper registers reflect an outdated image of the company that welcomes us.

And yet, well-designed digital reception solutions do exist! But if these solutions aren't being adopted by SMEs, it's probably for a number of reasons: Are they too complex to implement? Are they too expensive to acquire? Is the required infrastructure incompatible with the existing information system? Is their data management policy not compliant with the RGPD and/or that of the company?

There are multiple reasons to consider, but one of them is certainly the non-priority perception of this issue, which may also explain why it's often put "at the bottom of the pile".

In search of a new challenge, we decided to create an alternative solution that was easy to use, cost-effective, and could be used without hardware or integration into the company's information system. The objective is clear: take that little pebble out of your shoe, effortlessly and free of charge.

The first pilot companies are testing the platform and helping us to design essential functionalities to definitively replace their paper register : autonomous registration via QR-Code or tablet, real-time multi-site history, employee notification, auto-anonymization, entry instructions, virtual badge, evacuation reports... All this deployable in a matter of minutes and with no prerequisites for the company.
